welcome to my blog, I hope you have a lovely time here.

This part of our trip was truly unforgettable — we completely fell in love with Lake Tabourie and the gorgeous retro home we rented there.
We based ourselves in Lake Tabourie while exploring the Milton and Ulladulla op shops, with some pretty epic nature adventures in between.
It was the perfect balance of treasure hunting and tranquil wandering — a dreamy little slice of the South Coast.
Milton is a quirky little village just on the outskirts of Ulladulla, and it’s got serious charm — not to mention it’s home to the fabulous Mayor of Shoalhaven, Amanda Findley.
We were lucky enough to have breakfast with Amanda, followed by a guided tour of her hometown’s best op shops and vintage treasure troves — and let’s just say, she knows her stuff!
Just a short drive down the road is Ulladulla, where you’ll find some surprisingly swish op shops that are definitely worth a dig.
You could easily spend a full day op-shopping your way through both towns, with a delicious lunch in Milton as your halfway treat ✌️
There is soooo much to do for adventure along this stunning stretch of the NSW South Coast — honestly, you’re spoilt for choice!
One of our absolute favourite moments of the entire trip was kayaking on Lake Tabourie.
It was pure magic. Peaceful, lush, and totally opulent in that soul-nourishing, nature-embracing kind of way.
Another fabulous day trip is to Pebbly Beach and Depot Beach.
Pebbly Beach is a gem — there’s an easy 20-minute rainforest walk down to the water that even our four-year-old, Frankie, managed happily on her own (there and back!).
The drive is about 40 minutes south from Lake Tabourie, and 100% worth it for the views, the wildlife, and that glorious coastline.
This whole area is packed with nature experiences — you could fill weeks here and still feel like there’s more to see.
I think the one thing that made this part of our adventure truly unforgettable was the retro lake house we rented in Lake Tabourie.
This place was something else — it actually made me cry (in the best way possible 😆). It was just so beautiful.
The house was fully fenced (a big tick when travelling with kids), just a stone’s throw from the lake’s edge, and came with all the feel-good extras:
an amazing, easy-to-use kitchen, a record player, and a backyard that opened up to the lake — total bliss.
It felt like stepping into a peaceful little bubble of nostalgia and calm. A total dream.

Kayak Lake Tabourie - we set out at 6.30am, it was sublimely calm.
We have our own family blow up kayak, its amazing. It’s easy for Sean to carry in and out of locations and takes about 7min to pump up.
The house we rented also supplied kayaks.
Pebbly Beach & Depot Beach
Here you will find friendly kangaroos and curious parrots on a wide stretch of white sand beach.
Its a very special spot indeed.
Do be sure to walk the rainforest path to Pebbly Beach, it takes about 20mins and will blow your socks off. Frankie walked in and out on her own - she’s 4.
Please do not touch or feed the wildlife & take all rubbish with you.
* There is an $8 car park fee (coins only)
Or you can pay online, but best to do prior to arriving as there is no reception ✌️
