welcome to my blog, I hope you have a lovely time here.

A short drive from Milton and you’re in Ulladulla, where you’ll find some pretty swish op shops well worth a browse.
You could easily spend a day op-shopping your way through both towns, stopping for lunch wherever the mood takes you — there’s no shortage of options.
We dined at Milkhaus, just outside Milton — a beautiful venue with high ceilings, moorish food, and a warm, welcoming vibe. It’s set on a small working farm, which only adds to its charm.
From there, it was on to Lake Tabourie, a short drive south of Ulladulla, where we’d booked a stay at the Designer Retro Beach Shack.
Why?
Because we love beach shacks.
We love retro.
And we especially love when those two glorious things come together — as they had in Vincentia, only this time with a lake involved.
The house was gloriously retro, with carefully chosen vintage touches throughout — but it was the design that really sang.
The kitchen opened onto the dining and lounge, which opened onto the deck, which opened onto an outdoor fireplace — all neatly fenced in, totally kid-safe, and sitting right beside the lake.
We played Engelbert Humperdinck on the record player and sat by the fire under the stars, completely mesmerised by our new favourite place.
That night we played record after record — Roy Orbison, Linda Ronstadt, Johnny Cash — and went to bed not wanting to ever leave.
We awoke the next morning and promptly inflated our kayak.
We’d spent plenty of time staring lovingly at the lake, but now it was time to get out on it.
The water reflected the trees and sky above, and peering beneath the surface, we could see a large, shallow body of clear freshwater — perfect for kids, while Mum and Dad chill on the shores nearby.
We kayaked to the beach and back, floating through peace and morning light, before deciding it was time for a road trip.
We set off, driving 20 minutes south to Pebbly Beach, famous for the kangaroos that live on the beach.
After saying hello to the locals (and yes, they really are just lounging in the sand like it’s no big deal), we carried on another 20 minutes to Depot Beach.
There, we enjoyed the short Rainforest Walk — a perfect little trail for Frankie to explore, filled with the kind of tall, ancient trees that make you feel very small, in the best way.

Kayaking on Lake Tabourie
Set out early when the lake is as still as glass. We have our own inflatable kayak that holds the 3 of us, but kayaks were also available from house.
Both are situated in the Murramarang National Park. You'll find Kangaroo and Parrots at Pebbly Beach and the Rainforest Walk at Depot Beach, but please do not touch or feed the wildlife & take all rubbish with you.
There is also an $8 car park fee (coins only), or you can pay online, but best to do prior to arriving as there is no reception.
