Golden lattes are pure comfort in a cup — herbaceous, gently sweet, and easily adapted to your own taste. Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to sneak turmeric into toddlers (or adults!) without a fuss. 💛
Turmeric is the star here: it’s packed with antioxidants, has potent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and is known for helping to ease cold and flu symptoms. Pair it with the other beautiful ingredients in this drink and you’ve got an immune-loving, body-soothing potion that’s basically perfect in every way. 🌿
Making this potion is beautifully simple — and such a fun little task to do with toddlers!
½ cup turmeric
¼ cup coconut oil
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon cloves (whole or ground)
Place the coconut oil in a saucepan and gently melt (no need to overheat).
Stir in the turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, and ginger. Whisk until smooth.
Add the water, return to low heat, and stir until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat — that’s it!
Store your paste in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Heat up your favourite milk.
Stir in about 1 teaspoon of paste (I go for a generous spoonful).
Add honey to taste — I usually add a teaspoon.
Stir until everything is melted and blended, then sip and enjoy.
✨ For little ones: I give Frankie (she was 4 when I started this) about ¼ teaspoon of paste in her milk.
